and Weight Loss Benefits of Chromium
Chromium
An essential trace element for animals and man. The only form of chromium
used by the body is trivalent chromium.
Weight Loss Benefits of Chromium
Chromium is needed for the metabolism of
sugar. Without enough chromium insulin is less effective in controlling
blood sugar levels. Chromium's influence on blood sugar helps to control
cravings and reduce hunger. Chromium also helps to control levels of fat
and cholesterol in the blood. Note: If you are diabetic, please speak
to your doctor before taking chromium supplements.
How Chromium Boosts Health
Along with nicotinic acid and certain amino
acids, chromium functions as the Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF). It stimulates
insulin activity thus helping in the metabolism of sugar. Without it,
insulin cannot adequately control blood sugar levels. It also helps to
control fat levels and cholesterol levels in the blood.
