About Caffeine Pills and Weight Loss
Does Caffeine Help Weight Loss?
No. Although caffeine is a stimulant which
stimulates the nervous system including metabolism, the effects of caffeine
supplements are typically too mild to cause significant weight loss. And
trying to lose weight by boosting your dose of caffeine is not likely
to work and may be harmful to your health. Also, caffeine is highly addictive.
Taking large doses and then quitting will trigger unpleasant withdrawal
symptoms like headaches.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
has stated there is no evidence to suggest that caffeine is effective
for weight control.
If you decide that you must use caffeine
pills to try and lose weight, remember to combine your use of caffeine
supplements with a healthy diet and exercise program. Diet pills and dietary
supplements are not yet a substitute for a healthy lifestyle.
